Awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal for outstanding service to the Province in the field of arts and culture and expanding the reach of the arts in Alberta in 2022, and recognized with a Alberta Emerging Artist Award by the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta in 2020, Carlos Foggin is the music director & founder of the Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra, and has conducted the ensemble since its inception in 2016.
In 2024, the RMSO was named “Community Ensemble of the Year” at the 2024 YYCMusicAwards (Calgary, AB).
As a conductor, organist, pianist, and adjudicator, he has been afforded opportunities to share his art widely in North America, Asia, and Western Europe, on CBC radio, and in numerous commercial recordings
Mr. Foggin is a Fellow of the Royal Canadian College of Organists, only the 100th organist to be recognized with the Royal Society’s highest honour since 1909.

Awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal for outstanding service to the Province in the field of arts and culture and expanding the reach of the arts in Alberta in 2022, and recognized with a Alberta Emerging Artist Award by the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta in 2020, Carlos Foggin is the music director & founder of the Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra, and has conducted the ensemble since its inception in 2016, collaborating with esteemed soloists such as James Campbell CM, Glen Montgomery, Stephen Nguyen, Magdalena von Eccher, and Kathleen van Mourik, to name a few. He has performed on CBC radio, and can be heard on numerous commercial recordings.
In 2019, he was named by the Calgary Herald as a “Compelling Calgarian” for his work in community building, education, and outreach.
Only the 100th organist inducted as a Fellow of the Royal Canadian College of Organists (the College’s highest honour), and a celebrated recitalist & improviser, Mr. Foggin has performed around the globe on some of the world’s greatest organs. Notable performances venues include concert halls and Cathedrals including Notre Dame de Paris, St. Patrick’s Cathedral (NYC), Oratoire Saint-Joseph-du-Mont-Royal (Montreal), and Westminster Abbey.
As a pianist, Mr Foggin has performed alongside Il Divo, Michael Bublé, Josh Groban, and The Canadian Tenors, to name a few. He has arranged music for and performed alongside renowned British Military Bands such the Band of the Scots Guards and the Band of the Royal Parachute Regiment.
In addition to his work as a soloist, Carlos has been highly praised for a nuanced, fluid approach to collaboration gleaned from years of innovative partnership and performance. Equally comfortable with both singers and instrumentalists, he is highly sought after as a chamber music and opera coach. His students have successfully auditioned into opera companies, Canadian and U.S. orchestras, as well as university and conservatory music programs.
He maintains a small private studio in the Calgary area. He is also a busy adjudicator in the fields of piano, organ, composition, choral, orchestra, and band.
